Inverted was created by John after a 25 year ad sales career at ViacomCBS, where he held numerous positions and leadership roles.  He created hundreds of innovative, award-winning campaigns that delivered captivating audiences for numerous clients, both large and small.  With a brand-first mentality, he’s obsessed with achieving positive business outcomes for his clients. 

Gaming has always been his passion. He’s helped many brands activate within the space, including Doritos, Dr. Pepper, GameStop, Kelloggs, Nintendo, and Mountain Dew.  He’s a graduate of Purdue University, a life-long Chicago sports fan, a golf junkie and boasts a modest K/D ratio in Call of Duty.  When he’s not playing Xbox, he’s playing Xbox.

Winner of the 2019 “Esports Brand of the Year” as Marketing Director for State Farm, a totally non-endemic company within esports and gaming, Ed saw the opportunity was right to help other brands learn about what this gaming market has to offer.  His efforts in this market have included partnerships with League of Legends, Overwatch, NBA2k League, Rocket League, DrLupo, Twitch, and Fandom.

He brings to Inverted over 25+ years of marketing, media, and sponsorship experience on both the agency and client side.  Over the years, Ed has been named an “Online Media All Star” and an advertising “Leader & Legend”.  Also, under his leadership, State Farm was honored as the 2016 SBJ “Sports Sponsor of the Year”.

From a gaming standpoint, Ed enjoys watching his two teenage boys play League of Legends, Valorant, Minecraft, Civ6, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros.  He’s never beaten them in Mario Kart and they are still not old enough to drive.
